Described by curator Michael Darling as the artist’s “magnum opus”, Tan Tan Bo (2001) is an icon of Takashi Murakami’s oeuvre, demonstrating the new levels of complexity that began to infiltrate his practice at the turn of the millennium.
This beautiful piece was produced on occasion of Taksahi Murakami's exhibition "The Octopus Eats His Own Leg" at the Modern Art Museum of Forth Worth. Printed on a high quality medium thick smooth wove paper, there is also a slight metallic finish. There is no text on the front, only the image, printed full bleed with no margins, which allows it to display beautifully like a print. There is text and a background image en verso.
